Description

The Vestax PMC-05Pro was a scratch DJ’s wet dream. The PMC-06Pro however delivered an updated experience with scaled-down proportions.

Originally released as a vanilla 06Pro, it reduced the width dramatically to make juggling a much easier affair. At the same time, it brought an updated fader and improved sound quality.

The quickly released ProA model with slightly different innards became the one that most people had, hence me illustrating it in preference to the original 06Pro.

The 06Pro also got a Samurai digital model as well as the superior 06ProVCA version in 2004.

For me it became the basic goto model for anyone wishing to scratch. It did the basics well and was the ideal wallet-friendly workhorse for turntablists everywhere. Even now you’re likely to see one in use somewhere in a scratch cave.

Side note — I have a permanent scar on my leg after saving my mint-condition model from crashing to the floor while colour-matching the original for my illustration. I accept mental scars from years of reviewing but didn’t expect physical ones. 😉
