A present and future classic

When I first laid eyes on this magnificent mixer, even though it was outside of my comfort xone zone I knew I had to have one.

From release day until recently, a shiny 96 has sat in different places in my assorted workspaces.

And it was one of the first units I set about drawing for The Worxlab. It was these initial versions that I used to promote my work and generate interest.

Looking back, those versions were far from complete. This one however is. This illustration is by far the most detailed and complex I’ve done to date. Not surprising when you consider the subject matter.

It was far from easy to finish. While ensuring that every detail was captured, it got tricky when it came down to deciding which lights to switch on. When I did them all, it was like a Christmas tree and took away from the minimal aesthetic of the Xone:96.

And believe me when I say that colour matching the metal faceplate was a two-day task. The anodised finish makes the colour change depending on where you see it.

Size and style

The Xone:96 edition is available in full size (594x420mm) and full colour only. I feel that the complexity and detail can only be truly appreciated this way.

While compatibility with off-the-shelf frames has been maximised, I urge you to get these professionally framed. They deserve it. This is why I deliver all prints flat — framers do not like rolled prints.

Printed with Lucia pigment ink on Fotospeed Platinum 285 acid-free platinum etching paper with 25% cotton content, the combination of which is quoted as lasting 85 years.
